PPO plans provide national coverage through the Blue Cross Blue Shield BlueCard network.

In 2015, the insurer invested $2.8 million in community programs and initiatives throughout the state. Employees are an important part of community involvement efforts of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. In 2015, 83 community organizations received $101,380 in matching dollars through the insurer's Matching Dollars Program. The program provides partner organizations with $20 for every employee volunteer hour, up to $2,000 per year.
